Week 3

So here we are at week 3!  Week 2 was a bit of a struggle. Connor was just not wanting to do school on Tuesday and Thursday so we had a rough end to the week (especially Thursday)  The two of them were bouncing all over the library which made life a bit hard for mommy.  I've decided that once Tumbling is over (we have two sessions left on Monday's) that I'm going to sign the kids up for an art class that runs on Thursdays.  That will give me time to do my Sprouts runs on Monday's (instead of the weekends) and this will give us a straight through Tuesday thru Thursday school schedule. Maybe the break every other Tuesday is causing confusion.  Plus as fun as the tumbling is, it is a mommy and me class, and I'm only one mommy.  The art class Connor can do on his own while I help Em.
Pour in the mix

Careful! Two hands!

Mix together
So Saturday after quiet time I let Connor make his pudding mix that he got at Play on the Go.  I wish I had gotten a picture of his face for he was SO EXCITED. It was like Christmas morning for him.   He did a great job of putting everything together and mixing it.  Too bad it didn't taste that good (it was a cookie dough flavor I guess?)  None the less this was the highlight of his weekend I'm sure. Sunday was a bit rough, I'm pretty sure we all sat around and did nothing all day.  Daddy has started to work on Sunday's too so he's doing a 6 day schedule right now.  Kinda makes mommy sad.  But Connor did want to do some cutting so he managed to cut out a triangle, square and rectangle.  If it wasn't for my mother in law coming over with dinner, we probably would've all had Ramen ha ha!

So since we have started a new week, our letter is U, number is 3 and shape is triangle.  Our theme is the United States.  Connor is getting better at remembering what letters we're doing and that we go through all of this every morning during morning circle.  He's in a routine now that he knows what to do and where to do it.  We still say the pledge every morning and check the weather.  He is still a bit confused on the country and state business (right now I think he think's we're in Poland since that's last weeks theme)  But I think he's starting to understand.

New activity.
So today's activity was "find the animals that live underground. Since there is not a lot of things to do with the letter "U" they provided this activity.  It was pretty cool except for the fact that Connor wasn't sure of some of the animals (myself included) so we did this together.  He did pretty good with the obvious ones (ants and rabbits are underground, horses and turtles are not) but there were some he wasn't quite sure of (like the fox and some animal I had no idea what it was)  But it was a fun activity to do together.

After the that we did the matching colors of unicycles and then went straight to coloring.  We didn't have much time since we had to go to the grocery store (due to mommy's laziness on Sunday) and then go to tumbling.  Tumbling makes mommy and Emma tired.  Hopefully it will make Connor tired too.

So today was a good day. Hopefully I can get him to write the letter U after his quite time.  Tomorrow will be our second meeting at MOPS.  Wednesday we will be skipping school for it's Emma's second birthday and we'll be spending the day at the Children's Museum (which will be educational enough) and Thursday will be a modified day as we have annual doctor appointments for the kids (and two kids getting shots, fantastic!)  But they'll be fine.

Dig the hole

Plant

Water
I bought some Basil today to start growing on my window ledge since the sun is now on the south side of my house.  I had Connor help me by digging the hole, planting and watering it.  I'm going to have him help me keep the plants alive by watering them.  We have Dill already but I want to get Parsley too.  He'll love it.

While in the grocery store, I was telling the cashier Toni that we had to hurry because we had to get to tumbling after the store. She told me "You do swimming too don't you?" And I told her that was last month, but that we try to get out of the house every day during the week for school stuff.  She told me that its great that I'm working on educating them while I stay home with them and not just putting them in front of the TV/iPad.  I told her we have those days too, but during the week I try to educate them.  She praised me on taking an active role in their education.  I'm trying, and sometimes I wonder if it's sinking in.  But I see him getting better and better every day. Just like my mom always says "A little, can go a long way"

Cloudy with a chance of rain.

That's what they really should have said with regards to this Tropical Storm that was heading our way.  I know its only Wednesday but all its really done is just sprinkle.  I'm okay with that since I know alot of people got flooded last week. I knew this would happen though, because everyone is prepared this time.  We still have tomorrow and possibly another TS heading up Mexico.  Only time will tell.

Narnia!
So we did some running around on Tuesday to prepare for the storm, so we went to Sprouts :)  We also decided to go to the library today.  This was a struggle. Em and Connor were all over the place at story time, so I was "that mom."  Ugh.  It was frustrating to say the least.  We only did morning circle today since I wanted to go to the store before the library.  I tried to get them to do some cutting or coloring but they weren't having it.  Since today is not a school day.  I didn't push it.

Cutting out "Gifts" for Babcia

The front read "Happy Birthday Babcia" on it, this on the inside is Babcia, Connor and Emma

Emma scribbles for her Babcia
Like all their grandparents, these kids really love their Babcia.  Babcia loves to come over and cook for us too (which I love). But today was her birthday.  So we invited her over for dinner and the kids made birthday cards for her.  Needless to say she loved them.  I'm pretty sure they are on her frig as we speak. For those who don't know, Jonathan's whole family is 200% Polish.  Babcia is "grandmother" in Polish.

The Letter P
So when we woke up today we were happy that we weren't under 6 inches of water (or any inches for that matter) so I started the day as I would any Wednesday.  After morning circle we did some activities.  Here, Connor is writing the letter P on his new easel he got from Papa and Grandma.    He went right up to it and wrote a perfect P.

Find the P and the 2
Since the letter P and the number 2 are what we are working on this week, I had them find the P and the 2 (the 2 has gone AWOL) But here Connor is taking the letters and putting them up at the top, as well as naming what the letter or number is (Em is too)  This just proves he is being lazy sometimes, as he knows these letters and numbers.
Awesome!
Today for coloring, he did a pumpkin.  Which is cool since we are learning about the letter P at home, they are doing fall pumpkins at library,  They are reading stories and singing songs about pumpkins and they even made a pumpkin growing cycle.  It tied in perfectly!  Above Connor is coloring a pumpkin.  I'm going to venture that this is the first time, he colored everything the color it is.  This is on our frig :)

The country Poland
Since we are doing the letter P, I have also introduced the country Poland.  Since half of our family is from/lives there, he should know a bit about it.  He learned today what Poland is and that the capital is Warsaw.  He is coloring Poland above and then I asked him to point out Poland on an Eastern Europe map.  He got it right away!! (This was a matching shape type of exercise) Tomorrow we have a craft to make the Polish flag.

Library day
This Wednesday is the 3rd Wednesday so every other Wednesday is a story time/ Play on the Go day.  These days are exhausting for me. Story time is from 11:15 to 11:45 and then Play on the Go is from 12:15 to 1:15, so for 30 minutes we have nothing to do, plus they need lunch.  This is usually our "picnic in the car" day, and I take them out for lunch. But loading and unloading twice, in the rain, was crazy.
Connor though had a GREAT library day!  You can see above that he went to sit with the other kids today and he listened to the whole story. He was particpating in the story (it was a counting pumpkins story) and when they did songs he got up and moved around.  It gives me hope that just maybe, I'm doing something right.

Play on the go!
After we got back from lunch we had play on the go.  Connor spent most of his time playing with play kitchen food (which is so weird we have that here lol) And Emma is placing little cupcakes into a cupcake dish.  She loves to put things in and taken them out again.

Disney matching game
Once we got a cranky Emma home and in bed, we had about 15 minutes before Connor went to quiet time so we played the Disney matching game.  Whoever got this game for Connor for his birthday, it is a huge hit. Connor LOVES this game.  He does really well with the matching too.  I know he's beaten mommy on a few tries :)

Well, the house is quite which leads to me to believe the kids have finally fallen asleep. Maybe I need a quick moment to charge my batteries for the afternoon, or watch an episode of the Blacklist.  Today, was a great day and I like having days like this, it makes me feel like I'm actually doing something good for Connor and Emma, that they are actually learning something. Hopefully it'll pay off and when testing time comes for kindergarten, Connor will fly through it with ease :) Below is Connor in his library class today.  So proud of him :)

Week 2

My loves.  Em looks like a Ginger!!
First off, this weekend was CRAZY busy.  Since my kids were born two weeks apart, a lot of times we do a joint birthday.  Connor turned 4 and Emma will turn 2 next week.  We did a Lego Movie theme and Connor was Emmett and Emma was Wyldstyle.  It was a lot of fun, but crazy.  20 adults and 9 kids.  I'll leave it at that.  But thankfully its over and now we can move on to the next big event.  My Best Friend's Wedding, I'm MOH.  Never a dull moment for me I tell ya :)

We had gone to a kid water park in my friend's community which took up a good chunk of Sunday, but Monday came around and it was back to the grind.

Connor is struggling with this whole school business today, all he wants to do is play and that can get frustrating at times.  We still managed to do morning circle and color, but everything else was just out the window.  I'm sure it is because I don't really have a "learning" section and a "playing" section like most schools do, my house is just too small for that. I may need to move some things around in our house to make it more divided.  Time will tell.

Emma is doing great, we worked with some blocks that are a little above her age range and you could tell as she got frustrated a few times with it.  Connor helped her so they seemed to have some fun with it.  Connor is regressing today and right now he can't seem to tell you any number from 1-9.  I know he knows them, he's just being lazy. It's really frustrating.

We did go back to tumbling today and the kids seem to enjoy it.  I may find something else to do on Monday's or Thursday's when this one is over, I'd like to have them do something where mommy can just watch ha ha! Also even though the tumbling is so fun, this is a "mommy and me" type of class.  I am one mommy, they are two kids. Makes mommy tired ha ha! There is a art class that comes up in October that they can both do, I may try that one.

This week we will be doing a little rearranging, we don't have MOPS this week so Tuesday is normally our Free Day, but if you can believe it, Phoenix and Tucson are in the path of a Hurricane coming up from Mexico ha ha!  Not that it will be a Hurricane when it gets to us, but rumor has it we are going to get dumped on like we did last week from the last Hurricane.  I'd rather not be out of the house while the Pacific Ocean is being dumped on my city :) So Tuesday we will try and do some school stuff, in case we can't get out of the house on Wednesday and Thursday.

Day Three

Well today was pretty much the same as yesterday, just different activities to do.  We started off the morning as usual and Connor actually joined us this time.  After morning circle we moved over to our table to work on some stuff associated with the letter Q.

Sort and count
So the first thing Connor did was sort the quails into color piles and then count them out.  He got lazy in the middle but then I made him do that pile again.  He's really good at sorting and we're working on counting here, stopping at the number of items there (he likes to count around till he gets to 10).  This was fun for him and he seemed to enjoy it. I love doing this stuff with him because it is showing me how smart he really is, and how much he already knows.  Kindergarten testing should be a breeze for this kid.

Sewing the quail

This was one I had never heard of.  Having the child weave in and out of the quail.  I printed this, lamented it and then hole punched it.  It suggests using a shoe string or yarn.  Connor used a shoe string and it proved to be a little difficult.  I'll have to get a better shoe string or yarn.  He did pretty good for his first try.  I had to help him a few times get untangled or undo it when he went across the bird, but all in all, not bad little guy.

While Connor was doing his things, I had Emma do her shapes again and her Melissa and Doug caterpillar.  She's never really played with it before but I took it out so she could work on her colors.  She matched each one up perfectly! And then had them all moving together.  I was shocked, in a good way.  I have no idea when she learned her colors, it could've been me, Daddy, Connor but it was probably her education apps on the iPad that she loves so much. None the less girl knows her colors :)

Since today was Thursday, we were at the library for Discovery Time.  This group is geared more towards Connor but Em has fun too.  Today they learned about rainbows and colors.  Since we've had too much rain, the teacher talked about how they are formed.  Then they each got a color and danced around with them.  Emma really likes playing with these :)

Rainbow craft
They were given a craft at the end of the Discovery time today and once Em went down for her nap (which she did not take) Connor and I worked on this together. I had Connor dump out all the fruit loops, sort them into color piles and then glue them onto the paper by color.  He LOVED this craft.  I'm so glad the library is doing crafts because I'll be honest, I'm not good at them.  I think it's because I have a hard time buying an entire box of Fruit Loops for this tiny project :)  Thankfully the library does these crafts for me :)

I make sure to have nursery rhymes on during the morning and when we are driving somewhere so that the kids can learn them.  The library teacher says that if they know at least 6 by the time their 4, they will have an easier time in kindergarten.  Well Connor and Emma have only been listening to these for a week and they are like old pros!  I caught Connor doing this earlier.

Teaching Emma the morning circle.
I have Connor write his letters after quiet time (as we were doing this before school started) and it seems to be the only time he wants to do it.  Today instead of Q we did the number 1 and learned how to draw a square.  When they were finished I let them do what they wanted for the next hour.  I caught Connor teaching Emma everything that was on the morning board.  He was telling her about Q, the number 1 and the weather.  And even that today is Thursday and its September.

I had thought about telling Connor about the meaning of Sept 11th but I decided against it.  I feel he's too young to really understand.  Maybe next year we'll teach him about Patriot Day.

So the week of the letter Q, the number 1 and the shape square are all in the books.  Next week we start the letter P, the number 2 and the circle.  We will have our first theme, which will be the country Poland (where Jon's family is from)  we have some cool crafts that I will be incorporating in there for the country Poland.  So far, it looks like he's learning :)

Change up!

So today, our first Wednesday in our little home school preschool adventure, we made a few changes. Today would have been the start to Tot Town, an indoor play place that meets every other Wednesday for 90 minutes and the kids can play with all sorts of cool toys that I don't have :)  Its $15 per family for the entire school year and totally worth it.  Being that my kids are having their joint birthday party this Saturday, all extra funds (which isn't much) are going to that.  So we'll try and hit up Tot Town next time (even though that will be Em's 2nd birthday so we may wait till October to do that). So today we changed it up a bit and went to the library today.

I also let them sleep in a little. I was having everyone wake up around 8/8:30 so that we could be ready to go by 9, but since we didn't have anywhere to be till 11, there was no sense in getting up THAT early (ha ha!).  The kids were up and moving around 8:45 and I let them have breakfast while watching an episode of Clifford (Em loves this show).

Once it was over I had the kids get dressed, and this is where Connor struggled a bit.  He wanted to play with his new Legos (that he go for his birthday yesterday) and was taking his time in getting dressed.  I kept telling him to get dressed or he'd miss morning circle, his favorite.  Well he took his sweet time so Emma and I did it.  He did not get to participate in morning circle and no, I didn't do it twice.

First thing we did was color.  Since we are still on the letter Q, Connor colored a quail.  And he was matching the colors of the quail on a picture he had, which I thought was really awesome!  He made the beak brown, cheeks pink and legs gray.  Then he made the tail green and that's where it ended ha ha!  Em scribbled on the queen while I colored a question mark.  Today I had Connor name all the letters in the word "quail" and he seemed to struggle.  This concerned me a bit, as he is asking what letter this is while little Em, who is 2, is naming off the letters in "queen" like she has known them all along (later on he was naming the letters in his name with perfect ease so I have concluded that he is being lazy).  After we were done coloring, we moved on to the match and align game.

Match and align
Connor did great with this one.  He was able to match everything that was cut out with the picture and he counted them, still over counting though.  I helped him count again and he was able to stop on 4.  He really had fun with this one and took him about 10-15 minutes to do this.

Shapes in the box
Emma really likes this toy, placing the shapes in the cut outs on the box.  I had her do this while Connor was matching and aligning.  She does get a little flustered when she can't make the star fit into the plus cut out or if the triangle is the wrong way, but we are working on trying all angles or asking for help.

After they were finished with this, it was play time, I have the nursery station on Pandora with all sorts of songs (Monkey's on the Bed, ABC, Wheels on the bus, etc) which is great because they are starting to learn them and know them and will hopefully be good to go when kindergarten starts.  Em is a little attached to her iPad so this transition has been a bit difficult for her, but no iPads till after naps.  Once we get to playing she's fine, but she can get a little testy when asking for the iPad and not getting it.  It's getting better with each day though.

Playing in the tent.
The kids received this tent as a gift from their aunt and uncle who stayed with us for a while, on their trip from Poland.  They love to bring everything they own and stuff it in this tent.  Em just like to hide in here.

So today instead of doing Tot Town we went to the library.  Thankfully the library has story times every Tues, Wed, and Thurs so if something should change and I need somewhere to go, I can always stop there for an hour.  Thursday and every other Wednesday is usually our library days, but the kids love it, plus Mommy gets some new books for Daddy to read at bed time.

Story time with Ms. Teri
What I truly love about the library, is not only do they get a story time, but they get to do a craft and sing songs.  I take Connor here as it helps teach him how to sit and listen to stories and follow directions.  Some days he's right up front with the other kids, sometimes he cuddles next to mommy. Today was a "stay by mommy" day :)  Emma you can see is doing her own thing.  Thankfully Ms. Teri doesn't mind my crazy 2 year old :)

Learning about tools

Shape your body like a screwdriver
What I love about Ms. Teri is that she has a new theme every week and a fun craft to do with the kids.  Today it was about tools, they read a story about a cat who is in charge of a house at night (thats what those silly cats do!) and then after we matched tools.  Here they are molding their bodies like a screwdriver.

Their craft today was to make name tags for themselves out of letters that were shaped like tools.  I picked out all the letters and then while Em wandered aimlessly around the room, I had Connor find the letters to his (and Emma's ) name and then glue then in order on the name tag.  I would say the letter that came next and then he would find it and glue it on the name tag.  Connor loves glue :)

Bubbles!
This is Em's favorite time of the day, when they blow bubbles.  They also get a sticker or stamp at the end of the time and then we head out with our checked out books.  Even though we are only here for 30/45 minutes, its still a great thing for them to be learning.

I'd be lying if I didn't doubt what I was doing with Connor and Emma is really helping.  I think of home school like a regular school, where you are literally doing something educational from 9:00 AM till lunch time.  But I don't think it really has to be that way.  Even though today, we were doing things from 9 to 12, I still felt like I wasn't doing anything to help them.  We still did a lot in this short time.  We colored, matched and aligned, played, read stories, made a craft and danced.   If I look back on it I can see that we really did a bunch of fun stuff. I hope it's doing some good, I guess it's better than sitting in front of the iPad all morning.  I have to remember that even though this is a "learning" time for Connor, it also is a fun time.  I have so much fun playing and doing these things with them, and hopefully when kinder testing comes around, he'll be ready to go :)

MOPS will save my life.

So every other Tuesday we will be rotating as a free day and MOPS.  I went to my first MOPS meeting today and I'm pretty sure this group is going to not only save my life, but my sanity and my family.  For those of you who don't know, MOPS stands for Mothers of Preschoolers, its a Christian based organization that is run by a lot of churches in town.  Since I am currently without a church home, I had searched for some that were near me. I thought about going to my old church that I used to go to when I was younger but over all, it was a little far away.  I emailed a couple of different groups and the first group to email me back was so welcoming and warm that I got a real good feel for them.  The church I'm not really familiar with but I grew in that area so I knew of  it.
I was in contact with leader of this group for a few weeks and she was so nice in answering all my questions, and then I was given a "mentor" mom to basically be my first friend.  Let me say as funny as this may sound, what a LIFE SAVER it was to walk into this place knowing that someone was looking for me and I had already made contact with.  MOPS will be every other week and I will be there, kid free for three hours with other mothers who are in my same boat.
I dropped off Emma at her classroom first.  I'll admit I was a bit worried, as Em has never been in a "preschool" setting before, just Gammie (my mom) and myself.  I got a shock when I dropped her off and had to take Connor to another room (of course with 100+ moms in this group, why would I think there would only be 1 room with 2-5 year olds HA HA).  I was hoping that Connor would be with her so she wouldn't be scared, but in the end I'm actually glad they weren't, she needs to get used to being without myself or Connor when she goes to events like this.  I won't always be there and neither will Connor since he's 2 years older.  She did fine I'm told :)
Connor I went to drop off and sadly the teacher was a little over excited to see him so he got scared ha ha! But of course they brought out the cars and he was okay after a few minutes.  When I picked him up he gave me this gem.
I love it.  I love how Connor put everyone who lives in our house on here (Jon's brother Chris is currently residing with us).  He was so excited to see me when I picked him as well.  He told me how he learned about Adam and Eve and some crocodiles.  I'm so happy that Connor will be getting some Christian education in this adventure of home school. Being without a church home sometimes stinks, but I know the right one will come along soon.
Now it can be pretty intimidating to enter in to a fellowship hall and see 100+ women all chatting and eating breakfast and I don't know A SINGLE PERSON HERE.  I'll be honest when I come to these types of things I tend to freeze up.  But I put my name badge on and walked to my table like I had been going there for years.
Let me just say, that I'm pretty sure this group is going to save my life.  My life is not perfect by any standards, like all families we have our issues too (don't worry everyone, we are all fine lol) and we get stuck in ruts that we just can't seem to get out of.  Overworked husbands and lonely and friendless wives can lead to a mental barrier that we can't seem to get thru.  But being with this group of women today, I know that I'm not alone, that we are all in the same boat and going thru the same issues and as long as we can share together, there isn't anything we can't overcome. We won't have to go thru this alone or keep it bottled up.  It will make us stronger in the end.  Just for a tidbit, at my table, 2 other mom's have 4 year old boys and 2 year old daughters, in fact one of the mom's I found out today, that her son shares a birthday with my son (which is today by the way) they were in fact born the same year, at the SAME hospital! So basically we were both there at the same time. Crazy!
I say moms (or dads) if you feel you are alone in this world when it comes to doing what I'm doing, SAHM trying to do everything, find a group like this.  I have only been here for one meeting and I already feel a lot better about what's going on in my life and how to make it better. It won't happen over night, but knowing that I'm not alone, makes all the difference in the world.

Record First Day!

What a crazy first day of home school! But not for the reasons you think.

Record rainfall in Arizona, most rain EVER!
So last night I tried to get everyone to bed at a decent time so when 8AM rolled around it wouldn't be quite the shock.  Well the aftermath of a hurricane/typhoon came up thru Arizona and literally dumped the whole ocean on the city of Phoenix.  The thunder woke the house up between 3:15 and 3:45 in the morning and kept us up for a bit and then Jonathan got a work phone call at 5:30 AM.  So needless to say, when the alarm went at 8AM, I was less than thrilled.  Connor was also not really excited.

Ugh, morning.
Well I did manage to stay on time this morning, had the kids up by 8:30 and eating breakfast and dressed by 9.  We did morning circle and I think this was Connor's favorite thing.  What was great was that we actually had weather this morning so that was cool too.  We checked the Weather Channel on the iPad and then went outside to see what was happening.  We then came inside and Connor and Emma needed to find the icon that matched the Weather Channel's.
It took Connor a bit but he eventually found it.

We needed to find the thunder cloud with rain and lightning.
We also started the day (as we will with every day) with the Pledge of Allegiance. Connor I think really enjoyed this as well.  We'll work on where the heart is next time :)

After morning circle we made our way over to the counter and we had Emma color while Connor did some color/item matching and cutting.  He's never really done either of these before (the scissors a few times) and so he was pretty much done after 15 minutes.  I had a sheet for him to color but he wasn't that interested in it either.  So at 9:30 we were pretty much done with activities lol.
Using scissors.
So at this point, I felt a little defeated as I was hoping this part of the morning would go till at least 10.   But I just went ahead and let the two of them play.  Usually I would let them play with iPads or turn a movie on, But I've decided that iPads and movies will be for only after nap time.  So they two of them played with blocks, in their kitchen and made a huge mess :)

10:30 rolled around and it was time to get them ready for their Monday activity which was tumbling at the DVCC.  I wasn't sure what to expect as I've never been here before, in this class before, and wasn't sure if I should take my truck out or rent a boat.  I decided to go with the truck :)

The tumbling class was about 45 minutes and had about 10 other kids in there with us.  I think there was only one other brave soul who decided to bring both their children (I'm always that mom with both kids in tow at events like this ha ha!)  The kids did some running, jumping, crawling, stretching and so many other fun things.  I always think when I sign up for these things "only 45 minutes?"  But then I find myself around the half hour mark, wishing it was time to leave :)  But the kids had a great time and we have this every Monday for the next 4 weeks. This was a class definitely more for Connor but Emma still did some of the stuff and had a great time.

Hop like a frog

Balance beam.

Backwards somersault, a Connor fav.

Tunnel time!

Over all it got the kids out of the house for an hour and they got to "get their sillies' out.  They both seemed to like so we'll see how this goes over the next 4 weeks and we'll decide then if we'll do this or choose another class.

We came home soon after and had lunch and quiet times.  That was pretty much the end of our day.  I was exhausted and even took a little nap myself.  When the kids got up they were able to do what ever they wanted at that point, as I cleaned up the house and got ready to make dinner for when the boys come home.

I will say that the morning didn't go 100% as planned, I had hoped that he would have done more of the scissors and cutting activity but I know this is only the first day and we are still getting into a routine.  As they were playing with their iPads and I was cleaning up, I put the crayons, scissors and paper on the table in case he wanted to play with it some more. I was pleasantly surprised.

Look at him cut!!  First time cutting along the lines of (and he repeated this) a circle, hexagon and rectangle.
Over all I would say this day was a total win.  It went great being that it was a first day for all of us.  And for those of you who want to know "when is his reading/story time?"  Well the kids read with daddy every night (that's where they are right now) And they have story time at the library too.  But every night, they get special one on one time with daddy and read stories.  This is one tired mama.

Tomorrow, we go to our first MOPS meeting.  This should be interesting.  Connor will be fine, but I'd be lying if I didn't say I was a bit worried about Em.  She hasn't ever really been in a "preschool" environment before and I've never left her somewhere she didn't know anyone.  I'm sure she'll be fine as her and Connor will be in the same room but I will still check on her.  More tomorrow!!
